A Freedom Meal is more than a cozy dinner. The core of the Freedom Meal is a special meeting at the dining table, where the guests talk about freedom and lack of freedom. A Freedom Meal consists of the following components:
- The Freedom Meal will take place on May 5
- The Freedom Meal begins with a freedom toast
- The Freedom Meal initiates conversations about (among other things) freedom and lack of freedom
- The Freedom Meal is all about connection
For us it is all about food. Freedom and food are closely linked. Choices we make with regard to what we eat have consequences for people, animals and the environment.
Our dinner takes place in the Hugo de Vries building, an Art Deco building next to the Hortus Botanicus. There we organize 10 tables with 6 participants per table. We serve a dinner party where we investigate a few pressing questions with various table companions, with the aim of arriving at new insights and ideas.
