The Girls' House of School's cool Amsterdam connects girls with few social contacts through fun and educational activities. This creates a group of friends from all over Amsterdam, diverse in age and background.
The activities are always a combination of fun and something educational. For example, they have already been to the Hortus to learn how to make your own mini vegetable garden and a high tea has been organized with a lesson in personal hygiene.
As a new activity we would like to take the girls to the exhibition Diva's in the Tropenmuseum. Here they meet powerful role models of strong women from history. Would you like to sponsor us in the form of entrance tickets and possibly a lunch?
About School's cool Amsterdam
The foundation links a student (9-14) to a home mentor. Together they will work for an hour a week on the school skills, independence and self-confidence of the student.
School's cool Amsterdam has proven successful. For 25 years, the foundation has been supporting children throughout the Netherlands who are at risk of dropping out as a result of difficult home situations or learning arrears. Thanks to the personal mentor, these children achieve better learning results and school advice that suits them. We are looking for volunteers to help more children.
In addition, School's cool offers all kinds of activities for the students and training and workshops for the mentors. Thanks to your support in the form of gifts or knowledge, we want to offer more for these children and mentors.
