Volunteer Position: System Administrator

Sant’Egidio

Founded in 1968 in Rome, Sant’Egidio is an international volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable in society. Since 2000, the movement has been active in Amsterdam, operating from Waterlooplein. Volunteers offer friendship and a social network to elderly people, homeless individuals, migrants, and refugees. They organize activities, visit lonely people, and run the Franciscustafel twice a week—a restaurant providing full meals for homeless and destitute individuals. Sant’Egidio strives to create an inclusive city where no one is left behind.

Volunteer position: System administrator

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer with an interest in IT and system administration. Experience is a plus but not required. You will work alongside an experienced volunteer, receiving the guidance and support needed to develop your skills.

What will you do?

• Manage the network infrastructure, including the upcoming replacement of servers, switches, and Wi-Fi stations.
• Maintain and secure the server.
• Oversee application management, including the implementation of a new CRM system.
• Act as a helpdesk for troubleshooting and system issues.

Who are you?

• You have an affinity for IT and are eager to learn.
• Experience in system and network administration is a plus but not required.
• You are problem-solving, proactive, and communicative.
• You have an interest in volunteer work and social initiatives.
• You enjoy working in a team.
• You are willing to commit for a longer period.
